SIEDLE – working with brass since 250 years |

This is the place where we are living and manufacturing – SIEDLE has made its way from a Black Forest clock bell foundry to a leading manufacturer of brass hot forging parts. We are the pioneers of the Black Forest clockmakers – SIEDLE “gave a voice” to the course of time: the subtle brass bells, which announce the quarter strike, half strike, three quarter strike and full hour strike, have been of outstanding quality.

As a farmer on the Vogthof in the Neukircher Brennersloch, Mathaeus Siedle (1729 - 1804) established a foundry for wheels and clock bells around 1760. After testing various procedures, he finally found the ideal metal alloy for the sublime-precious sound of the SIEDLE bells.

Salomon Siedle
His son Andreas Siedle (1757 - 1814) moved to the Neukircher Bregenbachhof with the company and build up a cast-house there.

With their cast-house, Salomon Siedle (1787 - 1857) and Georg Siedle (1785 - 1849), the "Bregeme-Giesser", became the most famous bell founders of the Black Forest. While the son of Salomon moved to Furtwangen and established a company named SSS Siedle, Sylvester Siedle (1818 - 1896) moved with his son Joseph Siedle, born in 1856, to Schoenwald.

Adolf Siedle
The company SIEDLE WARMPRESSTEILE in Voehrenbach traces back to Adolf Siedle (1889 - 1976) and Paul Siedle (1887 - 1940), both sons of Joseph Siedle, operator of a brass cast-house in Schoenwald. The relocation to Voehrenbach took place in 1905. At that time, they have been committed to bell casting for more than 150 years with their technology being subjected to continuous enhancement and improvement, but nevertheless, due to the technological change and progress, they primarily manufactured bicycle bells.

In the beginning, they operated a cast-house in Voehrenbach, but in the course of time and due to the enormous economic success, they were able to build up an impressive new building in the Donaueschinger Strasse. Within a short time, SIEDLE has turned into an important entrepreneur.

Adolf SIEDLE strengthened this success and delivered a new wave of innovation: After the First World War, he discovered the huge variety of technical possibilities in the field of hot forging redundantising many former processing steps and allowing for technically considerably more complex products. This has cleared the way for SIEDLE to become one of the leading manufacturers of hot forging parts.
